Sofm after play-ins exit: “We had absolutely no laning advantage against KC”Worlds 2026 Play-Ins: Our Team of the StageDiable had been demoted to BFX's second roster on April 28 over attitude and accountability concerns, after refusing to attend a scheduled fan meeting. BFX confirmed that internal disciplinary measures were also planned.
Diable, last season's LCK Rookie of the Year, made his debut in 2022 with Liiv SANDBOX Academy, the predecessor to BFX. Promoted to the main roster last year, he led the team to a runner-up finish at the LCK Cup and built a reputation as one of the most aggressive young carries in the region. His performances at the 2026 First Stand earned him a place in the record books, with multiple pentakills at a single international event, breaking a mark held by Imp since Worlds 2014. His form in the 2026 LCK Round 1 had been less convincing.
According to Daily Esports, SOOPers had been the leading contender to acquire Diable. The proposed swap involved Kwak "Anosh" Kyu-jun, one of the top prospects in the LCK Challengers League, who had led BFX Youth to the LCK CL title last year. Anosh's existing connection to SOOPers head coach Park "Ido" Jun-seok reportedly made the move a natural fit, and most insiders expected the deal to be finalized.
The situation shifted because Diable, born in 2007, is still a minor under Korean law. The trade required parental consent, and that legal step changed the course of negotiations, opening the door for Nongshim to step in and close the deal before the deadline.
Currently sitting in 6th place at 4-5 and on a three-game losing streak, NS needed a roster shake-up to climb back into the upper half of the table. The organization invested heavily in its 2026 project, recruiting Lee "Scout" Ye-chan in mid lane, Bae "Sponge" Young-jun in the jungle, and bringing in Choi "DanDy" In-kyu as head coach. Despite that ambition, the squad has yet to find its footing.
