Movistar KOI officially extend Elyoya's contract until 2028

Movistar KOI have officially announced the contract extension of Javier “Elyoya
The move comes before Elyoya’s previous contract was set to expire on November 16, 2026, and follows a wider trend among major European organizations: locking down their most iconic players before the market can open. Only a few days after Karmine Corp extended Caliste until 2028, Movistar KOI are making a similar statement with Elyoya.
For Movistar KOI, this is not just a sporting decision. Elyoya represents the identity of the club in League of Legends: a Spanish star, a leader in-game, and a player closely connected to the organization’s fanbase. Keeping him until 2028 gives MKOI stability around the figure who has shaped the project from the jungle.

The extension also fits into Movistar KOI’s broader roster-building strategy. Earlier this year, the organization had already extended Melzhet, their head coach, as well as support support Álvaro, first through 2028. Reports have also indicated that MKOI would like to extend mid laner Jojopyun, showing a clear desire to preserve its core rather than rebuild around new pieces.
For MKOI fans, the announcement confirms that their captain will remain the face of the project for years to come, as the organization aims to establish itself as a consistent contender at the top of the LEC.
