BLG Xun before facing HLE: "They're our biggest competitor"
BLG kept rolling at MSI with a 3-0 sweep of LYON, staying on course for the golden road. Next comes the big one — Hanwha Life, and a Gumayusi who's promised to end the run. RFT.GG sat down with BLG jungler Peng "Xun

How are you feeling, and what does today's performance say about where the team is right now?
I feel like since we played early today, our first match didn't go so well, but after we gradually settled in, our form actually started to come back.
In the LPL you had strong earlies but tended to sometimes throw a bit in the mid game. Against LYON and T1, you mostly controlled those phases — would you say that's BLG's biggest step up at this tournament?
I think during the LPL regular season, everyone might play a bit more loosely, which could lead to some mistakes and a drop in performance. But coming to the international, we feel like we're very well prepared so we're making less mistakes than before and we're more focused going into the next matches as well.
Daeny seems to be a very communicative coach, not afraid to say what he thinks. He was also known for being very creative in draft with IG last year. What do you think of him as a coach, and in what way would you say he helps BLG the most this year?
I think Coach Daeny prepares very well when it comes to changes in patch updates. As for champion picks, I'd say they're generally pretty good — since he enjoys playing the game himself, he can sense early on which champions will be strong, and he'll let us know in advance. I think that's something he does really well, and it makes it much easier for us to adapt to the new patch.
I think it's due to the patch, because in this current patch it feels like if your jungle and support can have a very good synergy and do something more on the map, then you can tend to have a better tempo on the game, and you can also win the game slightly faster. So everyone is generally moving in that direction, whether it's our team or other teams, at least in this patch.
Many consider you to be in the best form of your career this year. Do you feel that way yourself?
I feel like it's just normal. I'll just do my own thing.

Gumayusi also told us HLE would stop BLG from making the golden road. Does HLE look like the strongest for you at MSI, and do you have something to say back to Gumayusi?
Gumayusi has been saying a lot of things like that, but I don't think he'll be very successful.
Kanavi is a player you know very well from his long time in the LPL. Do you expect the same playstyle from him that you're used to, or would you say he has adapted somehow since moving to HLE?
I actually think he's changed quite a bit. When I watch him play, I see that he focuses more on supporting his teammates now — unlike before, when he was more concerned with his own interests in the jungle.

We know you love food. Have you been able to try any good restaurants, and what's been your favourite dish?
Hanu — Korean beef. This is one of the dishes that I really enjoy.
Do you have any last words for the fans?
Thank you so much for your support, and we will definitely pick up the win against HLE in the next matchup.
soaking pressure bot and ON roaming on the map with you. It looks like that's become your recipe for success so far this year. Would you describe it that way as well, and what role does that give you within the system?
are actually our biggest competitor right now.
Since we've never met, I want to face them to see which of us is really better.
