DK Smash after beating T1: “Having this kind of comeback experience will definitely help us in best of series”

Dplus KIA took down T1 at Worlds after coming back from behind, and moved into the 2-0 bracket of the Swiss stage. For Smash, the win had extra meaning: T1 is his former team. Right after the game, DPM Esports’ Ethan Cohen spoke with him for the French broadcast OTPLoL .

Smash interview worlds 2026 otp

Hello Smash, you just won against T1, your former team. Does that make this win feel a bit special for you?

During the game, I wasn’t paying too much attention to who my opponent actually was. I was focusing on my play, what to do and how I was going to play out the game. But after we got the win, it felt really good. We beat T1, which is a really, really strong team, and in many different ways and meanings, I think it meant a lot.

You also won through a comeback, since you were behind in this game. Does that make it even more special, against a team like T1, on this stage at Worlds?

Yes. Having this kind of comeback victory will definitely help us when it comes to best of fives, or best of series in general. You can’t always win every early game, so having this kind of experience will definitely help us out.

You now move on to the 2-0 bracket. Which team would you like to face there: MKOI, Gen.G or LYON?

It doesn’t mean that I’d prefer to have Gen.G, but I would like to get a matchup against them, because I think Gen.G is currently showing the best performance here at Worlds. I think it would be great entertainment for the fans. And if we manage to beat Gen.G in a best of series and advance to the quarterfinals, I think it would mean so much.

You’re a rookie on a very young team. What are you looking to achieve here at Worlds? Would you be unsatisfied with anything less than the title, or is there something more you want to get out of this tournament?

League of Legends is a team game, of course, but I’m also someone who focuses on the individual aspects. So yes, it would be amazing if I could win the Worlds title this year. But what really matters to me is having a performance that I’m proud of and that I can be satisfied with.
