MKOI Supa on his team's title bid: "If you win the LEC, you can win internationally"

If you watched the LCK recently, we see fewer and fewer AP carries bot — mages bot — and more and more AD carries and marksmen coming back. Why do you think that's happening, and why isn't it the case in the LEC so far?

In the LEC it depends on the team, because some teams do this. For me it makes sense, because they're trying to build around a strong point from their ADCs. The most obvious example is Peyz — he's way better on AD carries than on mages, that's normal, same as all the ADCs in the world. I think APs right now are super broken, especially the first two games; then in game three you can ban and already get a normal meta. But I believe it's around comfort.

Since the EWC, you've been the CEOs of securing an early lead and throwing it in the mid game. Where does that come from?

Especially in this meta — I don't think it's more than before, but the current meta is so volatile that if you lose one fight, you throw. I've seen it in all the teams in the world, the best teams right now, they throw a lot. It's because right now, someone gets caught, you get a bad fight and you lose all the lead. So it's kind of what Riot wants, in a way. In the past it was more us throwing; right now it's similar to the meta, and obviously we make mistakes. We're throwing a lot in fights, but that's the meta — and I think we're improving. This week we saw a way better level in teamfights, and that's why we're winning.

Since the start of the year, everyone talked about the LEC's big three — MKOI

Until playoffs, it's a solid top two, because we lost to both all year. But I think we have the level.

In MKOI we always start a bit slow and keep ramping up — but I think we can win the split.

In some things we're better than the top one and two, in some things we need to improve. But I believe, for the players, we're going to be ready to beat everyone and get a title.

What would you say are the things where you may be better than G2 KC and the things that they are better at right now in game?

Overall we're a really good team — playing macro, playing the early game, knowing what to play for and ending up in really good spots. G2 are the more consistent team in everything. And KC are really strong in teamfighting, and the meta right now benefits them a lot — that's a good point from them.

What has been the team's main focus in game since the road trip? What was the assessment of what went wrong?

We had a talk and watched the games, and from outside it looked worse than it was. We were just failing in some details — reaching the correct spot and not pulling the trigger, reaching winning games and not closing them. So it was just about keep trying, keep focusing on playing well with our jungle, improving the fights, and especially not being scared. Like I said, it was just a little bit better, and I think we could beat G2, we could beat Vitality. KC was harder, but even in game one we were heading toward the win. So it was more about some details, and not being scared to fail.

Before the season, you said 2026 was about being competitive on the international stage for this team. Have you reconsidered those ambitions for Summer — is it more about qualifying for Worlds first now?

No, the ambition is still the same. We want to win the LEC — we really want to win it, and we think we're capable. We want to compete internationally after that, but right now we're not thinking international, we're thinking about winning the LEC. If we qualify, then we'll think about competing internationally, because Europe showed we can compete with everyone in the world.

And if you win the LEC, you can win internationally.

It'll soon be three years since you joined the org. Are you satisfied with your growth, and do you feel you made the most of those three years, with no regrets?

It's always hard to say, because after every year you think "oh, I could do more." I've improved a lot and I'm happy with the player I am — I just think I can still be better. If I'd known better what I needed to do in my past years, I think I'd be a better player now.

What do you mean by that — that you were stuck in a routine?

It's about some details — this happens to every player. Knowing yourself better, how you want to learn, how you want to evolve in these situations. In the end it's about being more comfortable out of your comfort zone in order to grow, and that's something you learn by experience — same as stage pressure, how to manage it, you learn by experience. So it's part of the process. But in general I'm happy. I'm in a really good moment to compete and win in Europe, and to do better internationally — which we didn't really try yet.

We've seen Alvaro and Elyoya re-sign, there are rumours the org wants to re-sign Jojo

I've had a conversation with the head coach about what he expects from me, so I know what he wants. This year I need to prove to him that I'm here to win and I have the level to be the best. So I'm confident. Right now I'm really happy with the environment and the project — I think we have a really good opportunity to do something special, because in the end we lost the first two splits, but if we win the last one, everyone forgets and you're the best in Europe.

I believe Summer is the most important split. So I don't care about the race, as I tell myself — if at the end of the year I'm happy with what I did, that's what matters.

When you work well, go in the right direction and you're happy, good things come to you.

A last word for the fans?

Thank you very much — sorry for the first week, and four more finals to go.
