Tatu after FURIA’s Worlds elimination: “Maybe we reached here with the power of friendship”

FURIA’s Worlds run is over, and so is their season. After bouncing back against Cloud9, the CBLOL representatives fell to MVK once again in the Play-Ins, the same team that had swept them on day one. DPM Esports caught up with jungler Pedro "Tatu" Seixas right after the elimination to talk about MVK’s early-game pressure, why FURIA struggle against aggressive teams, a possible last dance for this roster, and his ambitions beyond Brazil.

You’ve just lost to MVK, which means you’re now eliminated from Worlds 2026. What’s going through your mind right now?

There’s literally nothing more I can do competitively right now. So now is the time to think. I’m going to suffer a little for a few days, a few weeks, and then it’s time to think about what I can do to be the best player I can be next year. Talking with my teammates, seeing what the lineup is going to be, rewatching some stuff, doing things that will be good for me as a player, building new hobbies.

So you’re already thinking about what’s next?

Yeah, that’s what I need to think about. I was going “oh my God, if we did that, if we did this differently…” But I can’t change anything anymore. Maybe a few minutes ago I could, but not now. So yeah, it’s time to think about the future.

The first time you met MVK: they were very aggressive in the early game, playing in your jungle, invading. Ayu told me you had a good idea of how to prevent that from happening again, but today it felt like the same thing happened. Why do you think it kept happening?

I think it was different. In the last series, they did cheese invades, things we didn’t see coming, so we got surprised. Today it didn’t happen that way. They got some leads early in the games, and they used almost all their lanes’ prio toward the jungler. Then it’s going to be hard for me, and we need to stand still as a team and come back into the game. In this last game, every move they had, they went to my jungle to take my camps. But we were able to come back, we should have played better then. We were in a fine spot at some point in the game, and we had the outscaling composition too. So yes, it was different, but they got my camps again.

Normally, I’m the guy who’s always fine, strong in the game. I talk a lot to the team about what we’re going to do, because I’m doing stuff and the team plays around me.

Tatu · After losing twice to MVK

When I say it’s the same, I mean them snowballing through the early game by putting pressure on you and making a lot of plays happen. Do you feel this might be your biggest weakness as a team? Ayu told me it’s better for you to play against slower teams like C9.

For the whole team, it’s better to play against more standard teams. When they push that hard, we kind of back off, and we don’t deal with it. You can see it when you watch the games: we’re not sure what to do. Normally, I’m the guy who’s always fine, strong in the game. I talk a lot to the team about what we’re going to do, because I’m doing stuff and the team plays around me. So when they do that and we’re not able to deal with it, it’s checkmate.

I saw KC play a very close series against C9, then MVK stomp you, then KC stomp MVK, then you stomp C9. Is it all about how each team matches up against the others?

Kind of. I don’t know why, but MVK drafted very differently against KC. Maybe if they had drafted standard, they would have had better chances. But their drafts weren’t good against KC, and that’s why they got stomped. And KC and Cloud9 are slower teams than MVK. MVK is a super aggressive team, and we didn’t do well against them.

Do you think you would have had a better chance against KC, for example?

It’s hard to say, KC is a super strong team too. But they would probably play differently, so maybe, yes. But we'll never know.

I'm not sure we were a super strong team. We have a lot of failures, a lot of things we’re not on point with. Maybe we reached here with the power of friendship, I’m not sure.

Tatu · After being eliminated from Worlds 202

Coming out of this tournament, I have a hard time rating FURIA as a team. Do you feel the same way, that you don’t really know whether you’re a good team or not after these Play-Ins?

I'm not sure we were a super strong team. We have a lot of failures, a lot of things we’re not on point with. Maybe we reached here with the power of friendship, I’m not sure. We just need to be better. We just need to do better next year.

FURIA loss Worlds

I was talking with Ayu yesterday, and he said this is probably this roster’s last dance. Do you feel the same way? Does that add to the bitter taste of leaving like this?

Yeah, it’s probably the last dance, for sure. Tutsz and I still have a contract with FURIA for one more year, so we’ll probably stay. The other players, I can’t be sure, I can’t guarantee anything. But yeah, it’s hard to leave this way. At least we won a series, instead of leaving 0-6. If we had won today and had the chance to play against KC, it would have been amazing, insane. Then I would know if we’re a good team, if we have a chance to play well against LEC. But that’s not the scenario I’m in right now.

My idea is to be the best in Brazil and, at some point, go to another region and be the best out there too.

Tatu · On his career plan

Who do you think will advance from these Play-Ins?

Probably KC. I don’t think the matchup against MVK would be nice for MVK.

And who do you think will win Worlds?

I don’t know. Gen.G is the strongest team, but I want Faker to win again.

Really? He’s already won it six times...

Yeah, let’s go for one more. *laugh*

Tatu and Faker

As you said, your contract ends next year. Is there a chance we’ll see you in the LEC or LCS someday, or will you always represent Brazil?

I love Brazil. I really want to have more shots with Brazil at internationals and do well. But my idea is to be the best in Brazil and, at some point, go to another region and be the best out there too. For that, I need to go into next year, be the best in Brazil again, and do better at internationals. That’s the path, and that’s what I’m going to do. Let’s see.

One last thought on LOS: do you think they can show good things at this Worlds?

Yeah, I think so. Zest and Feisty are monster laners. They know really well how to lane, and they’re really aggressive, Duduhh is an insane carry as well. So let’s see. They’re a good team, and probably match better against aggressive teams, they’re aggressive too.

LOS Champion

Do you have one last word for the fans?

Thank you all for the support. I’m super disappointed with today, I think we had a better chance to win. Clearly, we didn’t deal well with a lot of stuff. We’re going to be better next year. It’s going to be a new year, a better year, see you guys.
