Karmine Corp vs T1: Doubt

What to expect?

If we go by trophies and experience, the story ends here: T1 wins 3-0 and all of the French team’s ambitions are swept away.

However, just hours before the clash, hope remains and doubt creeps into the collective imagination. What if? What if now was the moment the crimson reign over what we might simply call “their game” came to an end?

The most recent encounters narrow the range of possibilities. A clean 3-0 from T1 during the MSI play-ins that sent the blue wall down to the lower bracket, before they were eliminated by Team Liquid in one of the most bitter defeats of their year.

The EWC, which some say should be considered a full-fledged international tournament while others call it a marketing tournament. A 2-1 victory snatched at the end of a third game KCORP was not supposed to win, and the hope of being a great team was born, only to be swept aside by DK in a 3-0 final.

Setbacks are something Kamel “Kameto” Kebir’s team has piled up this season, against G2 and MKOI in LEC. But Reapered’s men are resilient. Their defeats are often disappointing, but they also herald a proud return to the Rift, as if nothing could ever truly condemn them.

During these Worlds, both teams had what could be described as a favorable Swiss stage run, mixing CFO or MKOI. Be careful not to make the mistake of thinking the world leader is not ready for any rebellion.

Because the problem with T1 is that it is a team capable of mobilizing its resources when it matters. Many great teams have fallen in the final stages of Worlds with every statistical advantage on their side, or after exceptional regional runs that suggested a feat was within reach. But Faker has held the throne for 3 years, like a despot who judges that no one in the modern era of League of Legends is good enough to strip him of his most precious possession. They are the favorites in this matchup and in the tournament. In many scenarios, T1 wins this series and Faker does what he does best:

He shatters dreams, destroys ambitions, and reduces predictions to nothing through his ability to sow doubt in the opponent who thought he was within reach.

But doubt is the most powerful weapon Karmine Corp has. The doubt of a man who was promised a spot, who was pushed aside by those who thought he would never come back. Today he is here, representing an adopted region, and he is claiming what he is owed.

Doubt is also what could creep into the mind of the giant itself. T1 has already brought down far worse. Dynasties, superteams, teams far more formidable than this Karmine that came out of the play-ins. When you keep slaying monsters, you eventually stop watching your feet. Goliath too had faced entire armies. He did not think it worth being wary of a shepherd armed with a sling, the youngest son of the house of Jesse. And as financial markets remind those who forget: past performance is no guarantee of future results.

Whatever happens in a few hours, we are about to witness one of the most incredible matches of this 2026 League of Legends season. Maybe quick, maybe close, but this is where history is written.
